Some media outlets implied that he was intentionally shot by an individual by carrying headlines such as “Jagath Manuwarna shot – Manuwarna hospitalised” or “Jagath Manuwarna shot at Mahinda Rajapaksa Tele Cinema Village at Ranminithanna”
Upon observation, FactSeeker intervened.

The shooting incident had taken place during the screening of the teledrama “Father” directed by Chaminda Jayasuriya at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Tele Cinema Village at Ranminithanna.

When FactSeeker made an inquiry from the director of the teledrama Chaminda Jayasuriya if the shooting was intentional, to which he replied that the shooting scene was scripted, but due to a technical error, Jagath Manuwarna had to face minor injuries. He said that the incident was unintentional, and the unfortunate incident was a result of a technical failure.

The Director said that Mr. Manuwarna who received minor injuries from the incident was back in action, acting in teledramas.

Accordingly, FactSeeker confirms that the shooting incident that injured Jagath Manuwarna was a result of a technical error, and unintentional.
