A video circulating on social media claims that Rowan Atkinson, the renowned British comedian best known for his role as Mr. Bean, has passed away, with footage purportedly showing his funeral.

Many users have shared this video, expressing condolences and using captions like “சிரிப்பவன் மனிதன், சிரிக்கவைப்பவன் மாமனிதன் – இன்று மண்ணோடு Mr. Bean” (“The one who laughs is human; the one who makes others laugh is a great human – today, with the soil, Mr. Bean.”).

Upon investigation, there is no official news from any credible media outlet confirming Rowan Atkinson’s death. Additionally, his official social media pages have not posted anything suggesting such an incident.

A Google Lens scan of the viral video reveals that the footage being circulated is not related to Rowan Atkinson’s funeral. Instead, it shows the funeral of police officer Keith Palmer, who was killed in the Westminster terror attack in March 2017.

Rowan Atkinson’s Recent Activities
Contrary to these false claims, Rowan Atkinson is very much alive and active in several projects:

1. Mr. Bean: The Animated Series Season 4 – Premiered on May 1, 2025, in the UK and on May 5, 2025, in Africa. Atkinson continues to voice Mr. Bean and serves as the executive producer.

2. Man vs Baby – A sequel to the Netflix series Man vs Bee, where Atkinson’s character now faces chaos while caring for a baby. The four-part comedy is currently in production.

3. Johnny English 4 – Reports suggest he is set to return in the next film of the Johnny English franchise, possibly releasing in 2025.
