FactSeeker has observed posts circulating on Facebook claiming that Sanoos M. Feroze, a veteran broadcaster and former Director of the Muslim Service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), passed away today (February 03).

This news was shared by several Facebook pages, including News Day and Youths TV Tamil, as well as on the official Facebook page of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC). Many social media users have been posting condolence messages in response to these reports.

The Facts
However, Sanoos M. Feroze actually passed away on February 3, 2022. The news currently being shared is an old report resurfacing as if it happened today. FactSeeker has verified this by reviewing past records of his death and subsequent memorial posts from 2022.
