It was reported by srilankanews.lk that the job opportunities of 48 Sri Lankan workers who had been selected by the South Korean Human Resources Department were at risk due to the inefficient operations of SriLankan Airlines.

The SriLankan flight carrying these workers was scheduled to leave Colombo for South Korea on May 23 at 8:00 pm, however due to a technical failure in the plane, it was unable to take off, and the plane eventually took off at 6:00 am on May 24, said Deepal Perera, Press Secretary of SriLankan Airlines, when inquired by FactSeeker.

The South Korean Human Resources Department has advised Sri Lanka to temporarily suspend the arrival of the workers who were ready to leave for South Korea due to the inability to manage the affairs of the workers in South Korea.

However, the Deputy General Manager of the Foreign Employment Bureau, P. G. S. Yapa, speaking to Factseeker noted that these workers will be leaving to South Korea on June 4 for their jobs.
