Following the controversy over the alleged resignation of a member of Election Commission PSM Charles on 25 January, media later reported that she was yet to leave the office.

She has attended all meeting of the Commission except on 25 January.

When FactSeeker asked Saman Sri Rathnayake, the Commissioner General of Elections, he said Ms Chales’ letter of resignation was hand delivered to the Commission on 07 February.

The letter, dated 03 February, stated that Ms Charles has submitted her letter of resignation on 25 January.
