She said so when queried by FactSeeker about a report published on Lanka C News website that the official residence and official car given by the government while Senanayake was functioning as mayor were yet to be handed over to the authorities.
Colombo Municipal Commissioner Jayawardena noted that the term of office of the Municipal Council ended on March 19 and Senanayake handed over her official car on March 20 or 21.
The Commissioner further clarified that the former mayor has obtained permission from the Western Province Governor to allow her to stay in the official residence until May 16 due to a repair work in her private residence, and she is currently removing her belongings to leave the official residence.
