We therefore investigated on whether this photo was captured near a filling station in Sri Lanka. During our investigation it was revealed that this photograph was captured near a filling station in the city of Ahmedabad in West India.

A photo with a caption that explains the inconveniences caused by Indians as they haven’t received fuel subsidies was published on the International Business Times website on May 23, 2012.

The photo that was said to be captured near a filling station in Sri Lanka in 2017 is actually a photo taken near a filling station in Ahmedabad in 2012.
