“Looks like Uganda’s only airport will be lost to China due to the loans they borrowed; Uganda’s only international airport is likely to be handed over to China in the near future, according to foreign media reports.”

Moreover, another photo was designed with a caption reading that the Entebbe Airport is rebranded by China.

Fact investigation

During our fact investigation, it was discovered that the official Twitter page of the Ugandan government had requested the following; “Please disregard this news spreading on social media. It’s fake. “

Moreover, the Chinese embassy in Uganda issued a statement clarifying that the news was fake.

The announcement reads “This is a fake news that harms diplomatic relations between China and Uganda, and no state property in Africa has been taken over by China in exchange for debt so far. “

   

Conclusion

Therefore, the news in circulation stating that the Entebbe airport in Uganda has been taken over by China due to Chinese loans is a fake news.
