The colours of the Sri Lankan flag were lit up at the Burj Khalifa Building in Dubai on 26th April, 2019 in remembrance of the victims of the Easter Sunday attack in 2019 in Sri Lanka.

On 1st January 2021, the Sri Lankan flag was hoisted at the Burj Khalifa building with the words “Happy New Year! 2021”.

No foreign media has reported that the Burj Khalifa Tower has been illuminated with the Sri Lankan flag over the victory of the cricket team against a match with Bangladesh in the T20 Cricket World Cup.

Therefore, it is confirmed that the photograph in circulation is from former instances when the Burj Khalifa was lit with the colours of the Sri Lankan flag.
