Responding to a query made by FactSeeker, Rev Fr PJ Jeparatnam of Jaffna Diocese stated that the pamphlet being distributed that a ceremony to install a “Pudumai Mata” statue will be held soon is fake.

The statue will be inaugurated on 01st May by the Bishop of Jaffna, Justin Gnanapragasam, says the leaflet.

Categorically rejecting all those reports, the Bishops House says no such event has been organised by the Church.
