The shared post states, “Not only are they providing free education to about 25,000 poor Tamil students who cannot study in Sri Lanka, but they are also providing jobs after graduation, courtesy of actress Rambha and her husband.”

It was further observed that this information originated from a news segment on an Indian YouTube channel called Trendy Spot.

Due to the numerous comments on these posts, FactSeeker investigated the authenticity of the said claim.

FactSeeker further observed that mainstream media Sri Lanka’s major news outlets revealed that no such reports exist.

When Factseeker contacted Brevo Hendy, an executive at MagickWoods, he stated that the claim was is false, and that providing free education to 25,000 students is an extremely challenging task.

He added that only a limited number of scholarships are being offered to a small group of students.

Additionally, an interview with Indrakumar Pathmanathan was spotted by Factseeker where he “SLIIT Northern University was established to fulfill the dreams of people affected by the war and those who cannot access higher education in Sri Lanka.”

“SLIIT Northern University aims to become the next education and technology hub in Northern Sri Lanka, with a capacity to accommodate 20,000 students across 30 acres, focusing on technology and job opportunities” he continued.
