The photograph features a signboard labeled ‘Coconut Development Authority (CDA).’

Observing the said area through Google Maps, it was confirmed that the location of the image is the CDA located in Denzil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha in Battaramulla.

To clarify the alleged claim, FactSeekeer observed that the official Facebook page of the CDA published a post yesterday (October 23) indicating that due to the recent increase in coconut prices, a special program has been planned to provide coconuts at subsidized rates to the public, aimed at offering relief. The CDA and state-owned agricultural companies are working together to implement this initiative in nearby areas.

The inaugural program commenced yesterday (October 23) at 8:30 AM at the CDA head office.

Additionally, this program is being implemented in urban adjacent areas, and it was noted on the CDA’s official Facebook page that mobile trucks were deployed to provide coconuts at subsidized prices in and around the Battaramulla area throughout the day.

Mainstream media has reported the news in the following manner.
