A video claiming to show Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré speaking about Sri Lanka is being widely circulated on social media platforms. The video, accompanied by Sinhala subtitles, has caught the attention of many users who believe it to be a genuine statement from Traoré.

During its investigation, FactSeeker noticed that several videos featuring Ibrahim Traoré are being shared on various social media pages. Upon close examination of this particular video, it became evident that there were significant inconsistencies in Traoré’s body movements and speech tone, which clearly suggested that the video was artificially generated.

A Google Lens analysis of the clip revealed that it is actually a segment from a 25-minute English-language video published on May 25 on the YouTube channel “Univers Inspirant.”

The description of the YouTube video contained the following disclaimer under the heading “IMPORTANT NOTICE”:

“Important Notice: This video is entirely fictional and created for entertainment purposes. While the events depicted may appear inspired by real incidents, all events, dialogues, and characters in this production are purely imaginary. Although influenced by the life of Ibrahim Traoré, the statements and scenarios portrayed are not real. This is a creative fictional series not intended to depict any real individuals or organizations. This video is not meant to convey political opinions; it has been produced solely for artistic entertainment. Viewers are encouraged to conduct further personal research.”

Additionally, at the very beginning of the YouTube video, a clear warning was displayed, stating that the content is fictional and manipulated.

Conclusion
FactSeeker confirms that the viral video claiming to show Ibrahim Traoré speaking about world politics and specifically Sri Lanka is an AI-generated fictional re-enactment. This highlights the importance of verifying content before accepting or sharing such material on social media platforms.
