Claim: A viral video circulating on X shows a violent physical clash and massive brawl between India A and Sri Lanka A cricket players after their Tri-Nation match in Dambulla.

The Viral Claim
Following a tense finish to the Tri-Nation A-Series ODI match between India A and Sri Lanka A at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on June 15, social media was flooded with clips of an on-field confrontation.

Specifically, a video shared by the X account @Incognitocric (and reshared by accounts like @Zoyakhan994 and @dpsharm77898585) purports to show players from both countries brutally attacking each other on the pitch. The captions claim that the young cricketers completely lost control and resorted to severe violence.

The Fact-Check
When the viral videos were cross-referenced with official match recordings and reports from journalists on the ground, it was confirmed that the footage being shared on social media is completely fabricated.

The video was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology solely to gain views and social media engagement.

Visual Glitches and Evidence of AI Manipulation:
Looking closely at the viral video, several unnatural and impossible elements clearly prove it is fake:

Duplication Glitches: Player Vaibhav Suryavanshi suddenly splits into two or three distorted figures in the same frame.

Unrealistic Physics: A scene showing a player being effortlessly lifted by Suryavanshi looks completely unnatural and physically impossible.

Animation Effects: The players look like distorted, cartoonish animation figures rather than real humans.

In reality, the actual confrontation on the ground was limited to just two players and lasted only a few seconds.

What Actually Happened

The tension on the field stemmed from a highly dramatic finish after the 50-over match ended in a tie, forcing a intense “Super Over” that Sri Lanka A ultimately won. Right after the final ball, Sri Lanka A fielder Vishen Halambage ran directly up to 15-year-old Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, celebrating aggressively right in front of him in an apparent attempt to taunt him. Frustrated by the painful loss and the sudden provocation, Suryavanshi lost his temper, walked up to Halambage, and gave him a hard physical push. Fortunately, this minor clash did not escalate into a wider team fight; India A’s Suryansh Shedge and senior Sri Lankan player Niroshan Dickwella immediately stepped in between the two teenagers to separate them. They quickly calmed the situation down, allowing both teams to proceed with their traditional post-match handshakes without further incident.

Official Disciplinary Action
Because the physical push violated cricket’s code of conduct, the Match Referee took strict official action against both Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Vishen Halambage. Both players were penalized and fined 50% of their match fees. No other players or staff members were fined, which further proves the incident was strictly between those two individuals.

Conclusion
The videos claiming that a massive, violent brawl broke out between India A and Sri Lanka A are completely false. The real incident in Dambulla was an isolated, brief argument and a single push between two players that was instantly stopped by their teammates. Any footage showing players brutally fighting or swinging equipment is entirely AI-generated and fake.
