Upon careful analysis of the widely shared footage, several inconsistencies were noted. The vehicle in the video appeared to be moving while the door remained open, and the clarity of the faces and hands was questionable. These anomalies raised doubts about the video’s authenticity.
To verify its origins, the video was analyzed using the “Deepware” website, a tool designed to detect AI-generated content. The results confirmed that the video was artificially created using AI. Further investigation revealed that the video was generated using images released by the media on Wednesday (19).
Based on these findings, FactSeeker confirms that the viral video depicting the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder suspect laughing with STF officers was not authentic but rather an AI-generated fabrication.
