He explained that according to the details provided by the Minister in Parliament, he is listed as an engineering undergraduate. FactSeeker observed a recent radio conversation involving Mahinda Deshapriya. During a phone interview on the “Baluimgala” program on Neth FMon December 6, Deshapriya discussed the issue of a minister accused of falsely claiming to be an engineer. However, he clarified that in Parliament, the minister had only identified himself as an engineering undergraduate. Notably, he did not explicitly mention MP Jayakodi in his comments.

FactSeeker also cross-checked the official Parliament Members database and found that while Kumara Jayakodi’s educational qualifications were not listed, he was officially recognized as a professional engineer.
