FactSeeker observed several posts circulating on social media that the package prices of Dialog prepaid and postpaid services, which are used by a large number of consumers in Sri Lanka, have gone up.

Most of the posts requested to reject Dialog services.

FactSeeker looked into whether Dialog Asiata had raised the prices of its services.

The shared posts said, “Dialog Rs.547 package is now 797”, “Let’s quit using Dialog SIM which is increasing the rates unfairly day by day.” etc.

Accordingly, FactSeeker asked an area manager of Dialog about this. He mentioned that while the Rs 547 and Rs 1299 packages remain the same, the prices of other prepaid and postpaid services have been changed.

Also, the Rs 547 package will continue to operate. Apart from this, a new package of Rs.797 has been introduced. The current Rs.547 Fun Blaster package includes only 03 social media Facebook, Whatsapp and Youtube.

In addition to these 03 social media, Instagram has been included in the newly introduced Rs 797 package. An additional 4 GB of data and 100 minutes of talk time is provided for this package. Those who want can get this new package and he mentioned that the Rs.547 package is currently active but will be discontinued in the future.

The price changes are mentioned on the www.dialog.lk website and in the My Dialog App and they have been updated.

Commenting further in this regard, he said that it has been about a week since the number of these packages was changed.

He also mentioned that these packages have given more benefits to the customers in the price changes.

Also, Dialog Asiata Company has informed its customers by sending a short message regarding the increase in these packages. Some consumers had released this on social media.

Accordingly, FactSeeker confirms that the prices of the packages have changed as mentioned on social media.
