Was the video circulating on social media of the Iranian President’s helicopter crash captured during the incident?

With Iranian media reports confirming the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi following the fatal helicopter crash which occurred last night, videos that claimed to capture the crash are circulating on social media.

Upon observing that the videos have been shared by Sri Lankan users as well, FactSeeker stepped in to fact check one of the many videos.

Iranian media had not reported any video footage of the incident or the helicopter which carried President Raisi.
Furthermore, Iranian weather reports showed that the weather was unfavorable at the time of the crash.

Further investigations conducted revealed that the video was generated as a simulation using content from ARMA and Bohemia Interactive, two online video generating softwares.

Accordingly, FactSeeker confirms that the video circulating on social media claiming to capture the helicopter crash of Iranian President Raisi is false.
