At the end of the video, the allegedly rescued elephant appears to be an African elephant while the people gathered around seem to be of Chinese origin. Therefore, it is evident that the video has been created artificially.

Running the video through tools such as brandwell.ai and sightengine.com revealed that 90 percent of the video was generated using artificial intelligence (AI).

FactSeeker observed that some individuals in the comments sections of the videos shared on social media claimed that video was generated via the use of AI while some seemed to believe that the video was true.

Accordingly, FactSeeker confirms that the video circulating captioned ‘Operation to Rescue the Laggala Elephant’ has been created using artificial intelligence, and is therefore, false.
