There has been youth unrest in Bangladesh after protests led by students against the government’s new quota system introduced for government jobs. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has also resigned from her post and moved from Dhaka Palace, according to international media reports. 

Factseeker was able to see various photos and videos taken during the protest led by the students being shared on social media and media.

However, photos taken during Sri Lanka’s ‘අරගලය’ in 2022 when the public surrounded the presidential palace are now being shared rapidly in the media, YouTube channels, Facebook accounts, TikTok, Instagram and X pages.

However, factseeker confirms that the photos and videos being shared were recorded during the 2022 Sri Lanka struggle protests and not from the current Bangladesh protest.
