Why did a Mexican parliamentarian protest about ripping his garments off during a debate?

False
False

During a debate in Mexico, a member of parliament took off his clothes and told the whole assembly the following, “You will all be ashamed to see me naked in this noble Parliament. But you are not ashamed to steal money and comforts of the people of this country seeing them naked, barefoot, unemployed and starving in the streets.” An image with this caption and a photo of the person is circulating on social media.

During our technical inspection, we found that the BBC had reported a similar incident on 13th December 2013.

The news report read, “A Mexican politician has walked out of Congress to protest a controversial law that would introduce government-controlled oil sector for foreign investment. Further, he (Antonio Garcia) took off his undergarment showing his strong opposition towards the law.”

Therefore, according to Reuters, the Mexican parliamentarian (Antonio Garcia) did not make a statement regarding the rulers hoarding money and facilities of the public by taking off his clothes during the debate. He has made this statement with the gesture saying that “This is how you rip your nation, just like you destroyed the nation by privatizing Mexico’s telecommunications. I’m not ashamed of being naked because you snatched Mexican phone numbers and privatized them, what good comes of it? “

It appears that a Mexican parliamentarian has taken off his clothes during a debate, not to protest for the poverty of the country’s people, but to protest for a controversial law that lends the state-controlled oil sector for foreign investment.
