Although their ulterior motive is yet unclear, hundreds of individuals have been added to these WhatsApp groups, and the organisation has received numerous customer complaints.

When FactSeeker contacted the Hayleys PLC to investigate the matter, an official of the organisation clarified that no such groups were created by the company, nor are the “Admins” of the groups linked with the organisation

The official further stated that complaints began to flood in at the beginning of this month. The organisation have complained to the Computer Crimes Investigations Division (CCID) of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

The Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) has also identified the misleading act and issued a warning.

Accordingly, Fact Seeker clarifies that the said fraudulent act is misleading.
