This was publicized as an incident happened in Maskeliya area, Nuwara Eliya.

Fact Seeker team looked into it as per the request to Fact Seeker to find out if this actually happened in Sri Lanka.

By using Google Reverse Image and Invid Google search, the image frames from the video were reviewed and it was discovered how the Indian media had covered it.

Between January 20 and January 23, it was reported by Indian news media.  Further the incident occurred on January 20 in a house in the hilly area of Coonoor in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu.

And in this regard, in the inquiry of several regional journalists in Maskeliya and Nuwara Eliya, mentioned that although they hear of incidents about leopards, such an incident has not been reported.

Accordingly, Fact Seeker confirms that this is an incident that happened in India and not in Sri Lanka.
