A photo with a caption titled ‘the teacher who bought an entire train to visit the aragalaya’ is being circulated on social media.
However the fact check confirmed that this photo is fake since the teacher mentioned in the photo has posted a Facebook status denying the purchase of train tickets on the Colombo-Kandy train.
Her status read “This is a fake news. I’m travelling to the aragalaya on the Rajarata Rajina train from Anuradhapura. I am not wealthy enough to purchase tickets in this manner. I voiced against injustice and won the train from Anuradhapura.”
As such the social media posts claiming that a teacher purchased train tickets to travel in the Colombo-Kandy train is misleading.
