A post with the title “You will have to get visa in the future” created using a newspaper format is being circulated on social media.
The technical investigation conducted to confirm the veracity of the above note revealed that it was created by distorting an article that appeared in the Mawbima newspaper on 13 January 2022.
The caption in the Mawbima newspaper read “Gotabhaya kneels before India and has secretly signed the oil tanker agreement.”
Therefore, the statement “The intelligentsia has already rejected Port City. Those connected to the government will pay a visit!” was not published in a newspaper as a statement made by Sunil Handunnetti and was created by distorting the headline of an article mentioned in the Mawbima newspaper on January 13, 2022.
