Our technical inspection to verify the truth of the photograph revealed that the bridge in the photograph is a bridge in Banton, Indonesia.
An article was published on the New York Daily News website on 20th January 2012 with the above photo stating that,
“A photograph of students crossing a damaged suspension bridge to reach school on the other side of a river in Banton, Indonesia”

Therefore, this photo which is circulating on social media is not a bridge in Sri Lanka but a vine bridge located in the Bantel province of Indonesia and the photograph is shot in 2012.
