A message is shared on social media reading,

Vaccination for 18-30-year-olds,
The government has made arrangements to provide the COVID-19 vaccine for 18-30-year-olds on Saturday, September 04th at the Viharamahadevi Park from 6 a.m. onwards. If you have not been vaccinated yet, do not miss this opportunity.”
The vaccination program at Viharamahadevi Park was implemented by the Sri Lanka Army. Therefore, we contacted the Army Spokesman Brigadier Nilantha Premaratne, to clarify the news and he said that no such decision has been made so far.
He further stated that the news shared on social media is fake.
Therefore, the news circulating on social media reading, “the government has made arrangements to give the COVID-19 vaccination to those in the age group of 18-30 on Saturday, September 04th at the Viharamahadevi Park from 6 a.m. onwards”, is fake news.
