A fake message is released on social media stating that Ashoka Handagama is looking for actors and actresses for five main roles for five of his upcoming films sponsored by the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka.
Ashoka Handagama has posted an official note on his Facebook account clarifying the news as follows;
“A fan of mine sent me information about a fake business initiative looking for actors for a film by Ashoka Handagama. I would like to inform everyone that I am not producing films these days and even so, I would be looking for actors through known professional contacts and sources.”
