A photo circulates in a satirical manner on social media indicating of a deforestation incident in the Southern border of the Sinharaja forest with the sanction of the present government.
Investigations into this photo revealed that it was posted in 2018 in regard to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.
Accordingly, it is confirmed that this photo circulating on social media is not a photo of the Sinharaja forest border.
